Day 27

Ok world

So my friend Buster is making it harder and harder for me. We texted back and forth tonight and having to read things like "I'm just so happy around you" & "I feel so lucky to have you in my life." It just means a lot to hear that from such a close friend. And to also have my family like him...GOSH! But you know what, 365...365...I'm gonna make it. :)

I'm gonna find myself and if he's still in the picture in a year...who knows. Well today was fairly slow. I had some time to relax. Tomorrow is my last full day in VA so I'm gonna chill a bit.

Definetly waking up early to excerisie at the gym.

Currently watching Bad Boys 2 on the Projection Screen with The Box Boys.

Day 26

Christmas was very nice, and tonight me and my aunt had a girls night on the town. I went to three communities: Adams Morgan, U-Street, and Georgetown. All very nice, filled with shopping, clubs, bars, and food!!! Also all full of GAY MEN. OMG, not to knock any gay men or people ( I <3 you guys) but when I'm trying to scope and see what DC has to offer, walking into gay men every time just doesn't work for me. I mean DC is a wonderful place, but gosh It reminded me of Belmont, Chicago aka Boys Town.

I guess once again everything worked out for the best. A fun night spending time with my aunt and spending my money, as well as staying single due to the lack of heterosexual men!!! lol good times.

On another note: I'm currently on the phone with Buster. Gosh this guy cracks me up. I mean he's nice and its creepy because he's like a really good friend, yet my mom and dad agree on this guy. GOSH that's kinda weird. But in a nutshell we've laughed, shared secrets and even brainstormed names for his "gangsta rap album" (LMAO) so far we've got untitled, and spicy chicken nugget. lol---Off to bed...SINGLE AND LOVIN'IT!

Day 23

So World,

I've been Christmas shopping with the family. I guess it feels pretty good shopping for others. It was kind of sad though seeing all these husbands shop for there wives and girlfriends. This won't be the first Christmas I spend alone and surly won't be the last. It's okay, I'm gonna by myself something shiny and be happy at that. Gonna take my cousins out to the theater as a Christmas gift. 4 tickets to Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakuel=$31 bucks.

Bought my aunt and uncle somthing nice, and my mom and sisters actually getting gifts from me this year. Its gonna feel great.

Day 20

Finally made it to Arlington Virginia. Here is where my Aunt Phyllis lives, with her husband Anthony and my three cousins: AJ, Justin and Quincy. All these fellas under the age of 12. This trip was for a real break far away from anywhere, and to help my aunt with the boys a bit. So far so good. Well off to bed...

Day 19-Update

I'VE MADE IT TO CHICAGO, and yes my flight from here to Virginia has been delayed so my grandma and grandpa, picked me up from the airport and took me HOME!!! And to my surprise all 3 of my sisters were with them. I've missed these people so much.

So now I'm home for probably only a night. Grandma must have read my mind, because she stated "no comapany tonight." There are a lot of faces here in Chicago that have been dying to see me and I can't call any.

Probably a good thing seeing that one of those is a guy named "Buster" who's really into me. Makes me laugh and think of all those fuzzy places inside. Guess Butser won't be knowing that I'm in town.

Well goodnight to you all and I will let you know whats going on as I live it.

Day 19-I Hate Delays

So world I've made it to St. Louis in one piece. But now I am at Lambert Airport and my flight has been cancelled. I had a connection flight in Chicago (O'Hare) and all those flights were cancelled too. Oh how I wish I was in Chicago at least then I could go home during the cancelled flight.

On a single note: Being stuck in St. Louis poses for a lot of temptation. Besides this city being filled with fine men already. Makes matters worse, that I know some of those fine men and have the numbers of 2 in my phone. I have watched one movie (bewitched) written 1 song, and played spider solitaire god knows how many times to stop from calling this guy and having him pick me up and take me out for a while. Why, because I am into him to the point where I'd definitely flirt more than is needed to stay single for 365. I need to learn a little bit more self control before I can tackle that lion.

Day 18- I'M BAAAACK

World,

So the finals went very well, and I have some new hot juicy news. (LOL) So while I conquered all of my semester finals, I also was able to take a break and spend some relaxing time with a very good friend of mine. He is a male and I don't want to mention any names so we'll call him Ben. Well I know what some of you may be thinking " Oh god here she goes, about to give in." This news is to actually make you aware, that I was able to watch movies, eat an amazing dinner and not think once of making a move or bringing up a conversation of talking to this guy on a more personal level. We have our moments, but the boundaries are clear, we have an education to achieve and things to do...Just friends. :)

Well I bid good night to you all, I just got through re organizing my room. My fall semester roomie Maureen decided to move back to Springfield and leave me to live alone.

I have an early trip to St. Louis tomorrow, and a flight to Virginia.

Day 11-A Little Break

World,

Please forgive me but my blogging from today until December 18, 2009 will be put on hold. I HAVE FINALS THIS WEEK YOU GUYS! It will be full of caffiene, books, and late-night walks to and from the library.

Don't worry, I promise to not give in to temptation, I will not come back with a "in a relationship" status on Facebook.

Day 8

Being single in college is hard, but one aspect that's harder yet helpful is some alone time. Trying to separate yourself from your friends.

For me this was a fairly hard task, but so far I'm achieving it very well. I have been going from class, to the library, to my room. I haven't really been eating in the dining hall, because its like thanksgiving all of us (friends) eat together. A couple of them have been asking me "where have you been", and I kindly reply "Oh just in my room relaxing."

World: please note that in order to REALLY truly work and improve yourself and being okay with being alone. you have to be by yourself. Try minimizing the amount of time you spend socializing with others. The more time you spend alone, the more you learn about yourself and tolerance. lol :)

Day 4

So world I've come up with a list. Not a list of things that I wish to change about myself for the new year, but things about myself that will improve.

10 New Factors About Me

1. The Cut-In my life I've always had a fairly nice length of hair. Its been curled, permed, colored, weaved up and even short like Rhianna. But in November I did something that I felt would redefine me. "I cut if off and now I'm all natural" (Main Domain Photo)









2. Staying True to My Word

3. Fashion-Changing up the style. Less Relaxed and boyish prep-More Chic.

4. Speaking the TRUTH- vowed to be honest to myself and everyone no matter how "honest" it may be. So please be careful what you ask me.

5. Health-eating right, exercising, and absolutely no alcohol or second hand smoke. (Sorry SIU fam, count me out for the late night joy rides and most frat parties)

6. Staying Focused

7. The Cellphone Number-My cell phone number will NOT be given out to any guy with interest in me. NO MATTER how fine, intelligent, and appealing he may be. (So those of you with my number...cherish it)

Defining Single:

For those of you who may know me and those who do not, you must be inclined to know that since I started dating at the age of 14 I have not gone longer than 1 to 2 months without having a "boyfriend"...or girlfriend (for that matter). Which in turn says a lot about myself. I have not been able to accurately find myself. I mean truly learn about every angle and dimension about me...Kiara!

This Blog is meant to show the world the challenges of being single when you are a "catch" in the social world. To show you some do's and don't(s) while learning them myself. An online diary of plenty emotions. Day-to-Day...This is the ultimate test...staying single for an entire year, and having the world just one click away from follow along this journey.
